Life Preserver, Type FLAP, 1941 Pattern

Gilet de sauvetage en tissu garni de trois parties de kapok et d'une vessie en caoutchouc gonflable à l'aide d'une capsule d'air comprimé ou d'un tuyau. Le gilet était équipé d'une lampe torche, d'un sifflet et d'un miroir.

Floating Jacket Life-Light

Two piece light, fitted in the purpose made side-pocket of the life preserver. It would be activated by the airman if he had 'bailed out' and was left floating in the sea, supported by his Mae West, awaiting rescue

Observer type parachute harness was worn by all aircrew except fighter pilots, who wore the seat-pack type parachute.The harness is fit out with a quick release buckle marked "Turn to unlock. Press to release".

Button Escape Compass

Escape compass designed to be worn as trouser buttons. Post capture the buttons are cut off and the one with the dimple placed on top the one with the pin. The dots indicate north.

Boussole d'évasion ayant la forme de deux boutons de pantalon. Pour être utilisés, ils devaient être décousus et placés l'un sur l'autre, le bouton muni de l'aiguille en dessous, celui muni des repères au-dessus. Les points indiquent le Nord.
